🌸Welcome to Our School! 🌸
Japanese Community Language school in the North is a non-profit educational organization partnering with qualified teachers who have experience in Japan and local education. Our mission is to create a supportive environment where parents and children can learn and grow together through enjoyable activities.
Our classes are designed for children aged 4 (pre-kindergarten) to 6th grade, and are taught entirely in Japanese. Lessons incorporate reading and writing, songs, games, and hands-on crafts to make learning fun and engaging. Classes are kept small, with about 10 students per group, to enhance individual attention, foster trust with teachers, and encourage active participation.
Students will present their progress by delivering speeches, acting, and singing in Japanese.
Students will compete in teams, engaging in traditional Japanese sports and games, where they’ll enjoy cooperation and competition, making it a day to deepen connections.
Other events, such as a bazaar, are also held.
In Hoshi class, children learn Japanese in a fun and engaging way through singing, crafting, and presentations. They will study hiragana and katakana, as well as learn how to count and express days of the week. Through various activities like seasonal crafts and games, they also develop social skills and teamwork. Each term, there are opportunities for children to present their favorite "treasures," "picture books," or anything they love, which helps enhance their expressive abilities. With the support of parents, we also encourage time at home to practice Japanese, aiming for more effective language learning.
In Hikari class, we focus on improving basic Japanese skills by learning hiragana, katakana, and kanji. Using a first-grade Japanese language textbook, students explore various themes that help develop their thinking and expressive abilities. Through seasonal events like Hinamatsuri, Children’s Day, and Obon, they also learn about Japanese culture. Students enjoy learning Japanese through diverse activities such as presentations, reading tests, quiz making, and crafting, all while actively working to improve their communication skills. They deepen their knowledge of Japanese and develop practical language skills in a fun and engaging way.
In Niji class, we focus on strengthening basic Japanese skills using materials for first and second graders, ensuring that learning is fun and engaging. From mastering hiragana, katakana, and kanji to reading comprehension and writing, students follow a curriculum based on early elementary school textbooks. Hands-on learning through activities like crafting, experiments, and games sparks curiosity, while presentations and reading aloud help build confidence. By emphasizing the joy of learning, we aim to cultivate strong Japanese language skills and rich expressive abilities that will serve students in the future.
In Tsuki class, we focus on developing students' thinking and expressive abilities through Japanese language education. Students cultivate their thinking skills by expressing their future aspirations in writing and creating stories on various themes. Through activities like performances and art projects, including drama and calligraphy, we work on enhancing their expressive skills, helping them gain confidence in presenting their ideas. We also integrate computer use to improve their overall Japanese language proficiency.
